An O'Reilly author, Paco is an expert in distributed systems, machine learning, predictive modeling, and cloud computing. He received his BS Math Sciences and MS Computer Science degrees from Stanford, and has 25+ years experience in the tech industry ranging from Bell Labs to early-stage start-ups since receiving his BS Math Sci and MS Comp Sci degrees from Stanford University

Marc Planagumà is lead data engineer and researcher in the Urban Data Analytics Research group at Barcelona Digital Technology Center (BDigital). His work deals with building scalable Machine Learning systems for intensive data processing and stream computing scenarios.
His current focus of work is geospatial and near-realtime analytics on mobility and smart city scenarios. Marc Planaguma holds a M.Sc on Telecomunications from the UPC, and he has been involved in research activities on data analytics since 2005, then at Telefonica I+D, and from 2010 at BDigital.

Fran J. Gómez was born in Madrid. He works as a Security Engineer and his professional career has always been associated with IT Security, even before he completed his university studies. In 2005, Fran joined Telefonica I+D Hacking Ethical Team to participate in security researches on ISP core networks technologies, which has allowed him to know deeply some of the protocols and technologies that will build the future Internet.
His current research is focused on security systems, Internet protocols and cyberintelligence at the Security Area of Telefonica. Fran has also been participated as speaker to events such as RootedCON, RedIRIS Security Forum, CCN-CERT STIC, TEDxTelefónica or Spark Summit.
