Big Data Spain Conference – Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy


About the Conference

 

Big Data Spain is an international meeting of experts in Big Data technologies, companies and institutions whose 7th edition will take place in Kinépolis Madrid, Spain, on the 14th and 15th of November 2018.

 

 

The company Paradigma Digital SL organises the Conference in cooperation with individuals, universities, communities and companies that are genuinely relevant to Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies and their applications.

 

Training

 

The training courses will be Advanced level; no intros or intermediate courses, not platform or product demos. The approach will be of a hands-on intensive one: workshops, tutorials, walk-throughs, etc.

 

 

The language of the training courses will be English only. Big Data Spain will provide fully equiped classrooms allowing a maximun capacity of 30 people. Students must bring their own computers or electronical material.

 

 

There will be a maximum number of two teachers per course and 30 students, in case the course does not have a maximum of 8 students, Big Data Spain reserves the rights to cancel that course and relocate the students in any other different classroom after notification to the studets affected.

 

 

Tickets are not refundable and there is no possibility of changing to another course once you have your ticket. Tickets are non-transferable.

The offer of courses is suspect to changes. In case of cancellation, Paradigma will offer a relocation of the students, another course or a  total or partial refund of the tickets.

Tickets

 

The prices of tickets may vary on a daily basis. The only valid platform to buy the tickets is the Big Data Spain’s website at https://www.bigdataspain.org. Tickets are nominal. The tickets can be transferable individually only once for the whole duration of the Conference. The ticket holder might be asked to show an official document to be identified.

 

Cancellation Policy

 

Tickets are not refundable. You are responsible for cancellation of travel and hotel reservations if You do not attend the Event. Paradigma reserves the right to cancel Your registration without notice if payment as required by these Terms is not received by Paradigma in a timely fashion, You fail to provide details as required in the relevant registration form, or You are in violation of any of these or any other applicable terms and conditions.  You agree that Paradigma is not responsible for any damages, direct or indirect, resulting from any cancellations.  All payments must be submitted within the time frames set forth in the relevant registration form.

 

Access to the conference

 

All attendees must pay the full registration fee and the funds received at the ticketing platform in order to have their access granted to the venue of the event. Individual ID cards, passports, etc will not grant access on their own. Tickets are the only document that will grant access to all the talks, coffee breaks and lunches at the venue of the Conference. Tickets will be made available by the attendees to the staff at the registration desk of the Conference on their arrival as the only accepted proof of the payment and identification. The print out may be on paper or on electronic screens.

 

 

Should Paradigma cancel the event, registered attendees who have paid the registration fees in full for the Event will be refunded their registration fee only.

 

Limited capacity of the hosting venue and theatres

 

The capacity of the hosting venue and the theatres is limited. The access to all sessions is on a first-come first-served basis. The organisers do not guarantee the availability of seats at any given session.

 

 

Identification

 

You agree to carry with You at all times during the Event, government issued photo identification in the form of a passport or EU national ID card. You agree to produce such identification upon request.

 

You understand and agree that You must personally submit Your identification information, including but not limited to passport information.  Any submission of identification information by any person other than the individual identified in the materials constitutes a material breach of these terms.

 

 

Payment

 

All the payments must be made in Euros.

 

 

Recording

 

By attending this Event, You agree to the following:

 

 

You understand and agree that a breach of the above terms may lead to Your being evicted from the Event venue. You may not be allowed to re-enter the Event or any future Events organized by or on behalf of Paradigma.

 

You consent to Paradigma and its agents making recordings of You by any means including, without limitation, electronic recording, film, videotape, audio tape and photography (the “Recordings”) without compensation of any kind to You. You agree that Paradigma shall be the copyright owner of the Recordings. You understand that Paradigma is not obligated to use the Recordings.

 

You also understand that third parties attending the Event may capture Your image by many means including, without limitation, electronic recording, film, videotape, audio tape and photography.  By attending the event, You consent to the capture of Your image without compensation to You and You release such third parties from any and all claims and causes of action You may have now or in the future including but not limited to defamation, invasion of the right of privacy, publicity or personality, copyright or trademark infringement and unfair competition.

 

You release Paradigma from any claims and causes of action You may have now or in the future based upon defamation, invasion of the right of privacy, publicity or personality, copyright or trademark infringement and unfair competition in connection with the Recordings and Paradigma’s use of the Recordings and You agree not to institute any legal action based on any grounds whether or not specified in this section.

 

Liability

 

The organisers may amend any part of the Conference program if necessary at any time.

 

Everyone attending the event should make their own arrangements with respect to travel, accommodation and insurance.

 

The organisers will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by speakers, attendees, volunteers, guests or accompanying persons, or loss of, or damage to their personal property as a result of the Conference or related events.

 

Privacy policy

 

The organisers collect information about users such as: 1) data that users volunteer by signing up to receive news and completing surveys; 2) aggregated tracking data we collect when users interact with the website at www.bigdataspain.org and 3) data that the ticketing platform collects in our behalf of those individuals and companies registering at and paying for the tickets of the Conference.

 

The specific use of your personal information varies, depending on how you contact us. When you sign up online to receive Big Data Spain newsletters and news you must provide your name and email address. We never sell or rent your email address or other personally identifiable information you provide us under these circumstances.

 

We analyse the visitors’ use of our sites to improve our site. We also may also share this anonymous traffic and demographic information in aggregate form with sponsors and business partners.

 

Sponsors at the Big Data Spain hosting venue may request oral permission from you to scan your attendee badge. The Sponsors are featured as such on the website. By accepting to be scanned in that manner you accept that the organisers send to those Sponsors your individual data (name, email address, telephone number and company details).

 

In accordance with the provisions of Organic law 15/99 of 13 December 1999 on the Protection of Personal Data, you as an attendee are informed about the collection of your personal data as described above. You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition under the Data Protection Act, by notice in writing to the sponsors of the Conference.

 

 

Safety and security

 

Paradigma is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please remain aware and keep personal possessions, included but not limited to passports, electronics and financial instruments secure at all times.

 

Notification of Changes

 

These terms and conditions are available at the organisers’ website www.bigdataspain.org.

 

Changes to these terms and conditions will be announced via the Twitter handle @bigdataspain

 

Data Protection

 

You warrant us that You are over 18 years old. The data You provide us with the registration form to the Big Data Spain Conference and such that can be obtained from Your relationship with us will be included in a file or files of Paradigma Digital SL , based in Via de las Dos Castillas 33, Atica 4, floor 2 . The data provided will serve the purpose of: managing Your registration request, sending You the registration confirmation and all the documentation that may be of interest for the congress, access control, as well as for maintenance, implementation, development and control of Your relationship with us.

 

You may exercise Your right to access, rectification, cancellation and objection, by writing to Paradigma Digital S.L., at the address above mentioned. Please enclose a soft copy of an official document accrediting Your identity.

 

Big Data Spain Professional App

 

This app will allow you to network with other attendees, speakers, and sponsors at Big Data Spain.

By filling in the contact form with your data, you authorize the organizers of Big Data Spain to use these details (full name, company and job title) for networking purposes only. This is the same information that is publicly displayed to all other attendees at the venue host on your registration card. This app will not display your mobile phone number and your email address.

Code of Conduct

 

The organisers assume that all attendees are well-intended and, collectively, a smart group of people. The Big Data Spain conference has proven to be a safe and productive environment for everyone involved in all its previous editions.

 

We will conduct the sessions mostly in English, including written and oral instructions and introduction of speakers and sessions. We recommend that you make sure that your fluency in oral and spoken English will allow you to enjoy and make a good use of the sessions. We may use Spanish in some sessions and as an auxiliary language in some cases by the event staff.
